Blessings Come to Those Who Wait

Cody and I have been trying for several years to have a child. After years of tests and procedures we finally got our baby girl. She arrived on June 23rd weighing in at 8 lbs 6 oz. I took off 12 weeks of work to stay at home and take care of her. It has been fabulous....a dream come true!

After so many years of trying to get pregnant it was hard to believe that I was finally pregnant. We ended up doing IVF to get pregnant. We got pregnant on the first attempt. We found out in October of last year....we told our family around Thanksgiving. The morning sickness was horrible...but everyday I was sick I was grateful to finally be pregnant. Most people gain weight when they are pregnant I was so sick I lost 10 lbs in the first couple of months. The doctor ended up putting me on a medication to help with the nausea, it worked great!

The pregnancy was pretty routine after the morning sickness when away. We ended up having a scheduled c-section...they baby was estimated to be about 10 pounds but the ultrasound was off a bit.

Katie has been a great baby. She was sleeping through the night within a couple of weeks. She is great during the days....she does get a little fussy in the evenings. She is becoming a very smiley baby....she smiles until you get the camera then she becomes all serious. Cody had her laughing the other day. He can't wait until she plays more with him.

I have to go back to work and am going to miss her a TON!!!!!! She has only gone to a babysitter once for a couple of hours so Cody and I could go to dinner. I am afraid she is going to be fussy for the sitter. Hopefully we both transition to me working....Moms do it all the time.

Summer Break

Cody and I have finished our EMT class. We both spent 10 hours working in the ER at Pioneer Valley Hospital. We have our written state test on Wednesday and our practical state test on Saturday May 22nd.
I had a lot of fun at graduation!!!! I wanted to thank everyone for their support with graduation. All the phone calls, texts, well wishes, and gifts were greatly appreciated.
Nursing School News: I received an acceptance letter the week before graduation. I was accepted into the Nursing Program and Weber!!!!! I start in August. I am excited and nervous.
I am excited to have the summer off. Cody and I both said it will be nice to have time off and relax this summer but both agreed we will probably find something to fill our time. We are not ones to sit back...we get too involved in things.

Hope all you moms out there had a great Mother's Day!

Be careful where you purchase gas!!!!

We have been the victim of the "skimming" at the gas pump. I purchased gas at Flying J in Tooele on Wednesday the 14th. Someone in California started using my debit card number on Thursday the 15th. I am grateful that America First has a security alert. They called us on Saturday after 3 purchases were made in California. We were able to cancel the cards before more charges could be made.

To prevent this from happening to you...don't pay at the pump. Go inside when possible. Or go to a station that checks their pumps daily.
